This Privacy Policy explains what personal information JobHops collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We take privacy seriously — we do not sell your data, and we do not use your resume content to train third-party AI models.
1. Information We Collect
- Account details: your full name, email address, and Indian mobile number (used for account security and future OTP verification).
- Resume content: anything you upload, paste, or type into the resume builder — work history, education, skills, contact details, and any files you upload (PDF/DOCX).
- Usage data: basic technical logs such as pages viewed and errors, used to keep the Service running.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To create and secure your JobHops account.
- To render, score, and improve your resume — this includes sending resume text (and, when extraction fails, the uploaded file) to the Lovable AI Gateway, which proxies requests to Google's Gemini model family for parsing and rewrite suggestions.
- To save your resumes so you can return and edit them later.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Account data and saved resumes are stored in our managed database and object storage, provided by Supabase. Access is protected by row-level security so that only you (and, when necessary, our operations team) can read your rows.
4. Who We Share Data With
We share limited data only with the vendors we need to run the Service:
- Supabase — database, auth, and file storage.
- Lovable AI Gateway / Google Gemini — AI parsing, scoring, and rewrite generation.
- Our payment processor (once activated) — only the fields required to process a payment.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
JobHops uses browser cookies and localStorage for essential functions only: keeping you signed in, remembering your theme preference, and (for anonymous users) saving your in-progress resume on your own device until you create an account. We do not run third-party ad-tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights
- Access & export: you can view and download the resumes you've saved at any time from your dashboard.
- Delete: you can delete individual resumes, or your entire account, from Settings. Deletion removes your data from our active database within 30 days.
- Correction: you can edit any profile field directly in the app.
7. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data from production systems within 30 days. Encrypted backups may persist for up to 60 days before rotating out.
8. Children
JobHops is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
